Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Staff AI Engineer to build responsible and scalable AI systems in a remote-eligible capacity. The role collaborates with engineers, researchers, PMs, and product teams to deploy AI-powered products that transform customer interactions and banking experiences.

You will work with a broad stack, advance LLM techniques, and contribute to the foundational AI platforms and roadmap at Capital One. This is a high-impact, technically deep opportunity within IFX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or AI with 8+ years in AI/ML development.
• 8+ years programming in Python, Go, Scala or Java.
• Master's degree with 6+ years in AI/ML is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components.
• Utilize Open Source and SaaS AI technologies including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and VectorDBs.
• Invent state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve performance and cost.
• Contribute to the technical vision and the long-term roadmap of AI systems at Capital One.
