Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Developer Productivity - AI Developer Tools team. You will architect an AI-native development lifecycle and remove friction for hundreds of builders.

Your work will shape the AI platform across our engineering organization, with a focus on secure, context-aware tooling, autonomous agents, and RAG-based capabilities. You’ll lead initiatives that improve reliability, efficiency, and developer experiences company-wide.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems engineering in large-scale distributed software.
• Production AI experience with prompt engineering, RAG, multi-agent workflows.
• Developer-first mindset focused on DX and productivity.
• Strategic thinking about data privacy, security, and cost.
• Excellent communication to align stakeholders.
• Ability to work across teams toward a shared vision.

Responsibilities

• Architect AI Core Infrastructure: Design, scale, and maintain the internal platform and APIs that integrate LLMs into the developer workflow, with autonomous agents, RAG, and smart context-delivery systems.
• Drive Technical Leadership & Vision: Establish engineering practices for AI at the company, incl. evals, guardrails, latency, token spend.
• Collaborate & Evangelize: Partner with product engineering, Infrastructure, and Security to ensure scalable, secure AI tooling.
• Optimize Feedback Loops: Identify bottlenecks in the local-to-production lifecycle at scale.
• Maintain Enterprise Reliability: Production-grade AI infrastructure with monitoring and resilience.
