Job summary

The HORIBA Group’s Irvine, CA location seeks a Staff Accountant to join our Shared Services team. You will prepare journal entries, manage the general ledger close, and assist in income statements, balance sheets, and financial reporting with a focus on accuracy and TIMELY delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, SAP FI/CO experience, and strong Excel/Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college/university.
• Knowledge of general and cost accounting principles and practices.
• SAP FI/CO experience.
• Experience organizing sales and use tax returns and monthly reconciliations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Ability to effect change through collaboration.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Support the month end general ledger close and prepare journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and other internal and external financial reporting.
• Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Support income tax research/ special projects, filings and accounting treatments.
• Develop financial system improvements/ upgrades/ controls.
• Evaluate process deficiencies, formulate corrective action plans, and develop process improvements and/or procedural controls.
• Identify areas of concern/ opportunity and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in planning, execution, separation, integration and organizational restructuring activities for post-merger initiatives.
• Other general accounting responsibilities and special projects as required.
• Support financial reviews and audits conducted by independent auditors.
