Job summary

Horiba Instruments is seeking a Staff Accountant in Irvine, CA to support the month-end close, prepare journal entries, and perform reconciliations. The role includes assisting with income statements, balance sheets, and budgets, as well as variances and tax-related projects.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, SAP FI/CO experience, and strong analytical and communication skills. The position offers a comprehensive compensation package and room for growth.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of general and cost accounting principles and practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college/university.
• SAP FI/CO experience.
• Experience organizing sales and use tax returns and monthly reconciliations.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Ability to effect change through collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support the month end general ledger close and prepare journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing income statements and balance sheets and other financial reporting.
• Assist in annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
• Support tax research and accounting treatments.
• Identify process improvements and corrective actions.
• Assist in post-merger integration activities and other accounting projects.
• Support audits conducted by independent auditors.
