Vertex Education is seeking a Staff Accountant for Vertex Management Services to lead the month-end close for Legacy Traditional Schools, ensuring a precise, audit-ready ledger.

You will process journal entries, prepare reconciliations, and maintain ledger integrity with GAAP adherence, while meeting deadlines in a high-volume environment. Proficiency with Workday or similar ERP and advanced Excel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting with general ledger and month-end close responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with a large ERP system (Workday, NetSuite or Oracle).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close tasks, including journal entries and reporting.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations with supporting documentation.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy in Workday and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Perform daily cash reconciliations and provide treasury support as needed.
• Create clear process documentation and respond to finance inquiries.
