Job summary

Vertex Education in Chandler, AZ is seeking a Staff Accountant to own the month-end close process for Legacy Traditional Schools, ensuring GAAP-compliant accounting and audit-ready documentation. You will manage journal entries and reconciliations with a focus on accuracy, speed, and a reliable close.

This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who thrive in a high-volume environment. You will work with Workday, NetSuite, or Oracle ERP, and contribute to treasury support, process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience with general ledger maintenance and month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with large-scale ERP systems (Workday, NetSuite or Oracle) and Excel.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end close tasks, including journal entries and reporting per the close calendar.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and perform reconciliations with proper documentation.
• Oversee daily cash and treasury activities and provide merchant account support.
• Document processes, identify improvements, and respond to finance inquiries from campuses.
