Job summary

Poli Construction Inc is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant & People Ops Administrator to bring accounting and HR admin in-house. You will own core accounting workflows, support payroll and HR admin, and drive automation improvements. You’ll partner with the Controller and grow into broader responsibilities.

This role is not a seat-warmer; it offers real ownership, fast learning, and measurable outcomes with direct impact on financial and people operations in a growing construction firm.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years accounting operations experience (construction a plus)
• Strong AP, reconciliations, and month-end support fundamentals
• Experience coordinating payroll runs (ADP preferred)
• High ownership, accuracy, and deadline discipline
• Tech-forward: learns systems quickly and improves workflows
• Strong communicator with vendors, PMs, and leadership
• 4 year Accounting degree

Responsibilities

• Own AP intake, coding, approvals, vendor communication, and documentation
• Coordinate payroll inputs and cutoffs for ~40 employees (ADP)
• Bank feeds, reconciliations, and monthly closings with clean schedules
• Support month-end close with checklists, schedules, and reconciliations
• Support job-costing and construction ops finance with Procore and QBO
• HR admin support: onboarding, benefits coordination, file maintenance
