Job summary

Wayne Farms seeks a Staff Accountant to perform accounting tasks, reconcile data, and explain monthly profit/loss for the processing operations.

You will create journal entries, balance the general ledger, manage inter-company sales, and support month-end close with accuracy and timeliness.

Requirements include a BS in Accounting or related field, 1–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, fluent English, and the ability to work independently in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• BS in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Combination of associate degree and experience may substitute for 4-year degree.
• 1–3 years relevant accounting experience with knowledge of accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Downloads Sales and Purchases data to reconcile to inventory database.
• Evaluate weights/ yields and ensure accurate data.
• Verify accuracy of sales and purchases pricing to prevent over/under billing.
• Evaluate outside sales claims on short weights, price and quality adjustments.
• Summarize sales and purchases by department for reports and P&L.
• Inventory valuations for finished goods, raw materials, etc.
• Create journal entries for Sales, Purchasing and Inventory at month end.
• Balance general ledger accounts.
• Manage sales commissions and freight accruals.
• Input production data for yields and throughputs reporting.
• Analyze variance between actual and standard costs to explain profit/loss.
• Manage data/projects distribution and reporting.
