Job summary

HireQuest Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting functions and contribute to month-end close and reporting activities.

This role offers exposure across core financial operations within a collaborative and professional office environment, with opportunities for professional growth. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance and 1-3+ years of accounting experience, along with strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 1-3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems/ERP platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize effectively.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain journal entries and general ledger activity.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and financial discrepancies.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting activities.
• Maintain accounting documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
