Job summary

TCA Health is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Chicago. The role supports day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger activity, reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, financial reporting, grant accounting, and audit preparation in a nonprofit healthcare environment.

You will work under the CFO, ensure GAAP compliance, assist with audits, and help produce timely financial reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years accounting experience, including general ledger and reconciliations.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and strong Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software; ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
• Support grant accounting and tracking of restricted funding.
• Assist with audits and provide documentation as needed.
• Maintain accurate financial records and internal controls.
