Job summary

Addison Group is seeking a Grant Accountant for a nonprofit healthcare organization in Chicago to manage grant accounting across federal, state, and municipal grants, ensuring costs are captured and vouchers processed on time.

Ideal candidates will have solid general ledger knowledge, strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, XLOOKUP), and experience with Sage Intacct; ADP Workforce Now is a plus. Fiscal year-end is June 30.

Qualifications

• Grant accounting experience required.
• Strong general ledger knowledge and journal entry skills.
• Ability to read and interpret grant agreements and related costs.
• Proficient Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, SUMIFS and XLOOKUP.
• Experience with Sage Intacct is highly preferred; ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage grant-related accounting for federal, state, and municipal grants.
• Partner with program managers to ensure grant costs are documented accurately.
• Ensure grant vouchers are processed and submitted timely.
• Prepare and post journal entries for grant accounting.
• Review grant agreements to understand funding requirements and costs.
• Track financial activity using the general ledger and grant codes.
• Support the annual audit process as needed.
