Job summary

Canopy A&D in Riverside, CA is seeking a Staff Accountant to manage general ledger, AP, AR, and admin support within the Finance & Accounting team.

This role ensures accurate records, supports month- and year-end closings, and contributes to internal controls and process improvements. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, solid accounting knowledge, and the ability to work both independently and with the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience (AP/AR/GL).
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for recurring, adjusting, and accrual entries.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
• Process vendor invoices and payments; manage vendor records and inquiries.
• Generate customer invoices and apply payments; monitor AR aging and collections.
• Maintain organized financial records and assist with audit documentation.
• Support internal controls and process improvements.
