Job summary

Canopy A&D in Irvine, CA seeks an Assistant Controller to support the CFO in accounting and financial reporting, with a strong ERP project focus including Epicor implementation and month-end close improvements. You will work across Finance, Operations, and Program Management to strengthen controls and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, 5+ years of accounting experience, GAAP expertise, and hands-on ERP and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and accounting principles.
• Experience with month-end close, financial statements, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Hands-on ERP experience and proficient MS Excel.
• Analytical, detail oriented with strong communication and time management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage accounting and finance projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Support ERP implementation, optimization, and ongoing development (Epicor preferred).
• Shorten month-end close with workflow improvements and automation.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Support consolidation, intercompany transactions, and financial analysis.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies and internal controls.
