Job summary

LHH in Cincinnati, Ohio, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position offers broad exposure to financial reporting, general ledger accounting, budgeting, and operational accounting activities within a growing, well-established organization.

The ideal candidate has 1 to 3 years of accounting experience or relevant internships, a solid understanding of GAAP, and strong Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 1–3 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Understanding of GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports and supporting schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Review and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
• Assist with customer billing, cash application, collections support, and account analysis.
• Monitor operational and capital expenditures to ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting.
• Track fixed assets, capital projects, and related expenditures.
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
• Analyze financial data and provide reporting support to management and operational teams.
• Assist with audit preparation, including gathering documentation and preparing supporting schedules.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in special projects as assigned.
