Job summary

LHH is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our client’s finance team in Silver Spring, MD. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, full-cycle accounting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

You will manage journal entries, assist with budgeting and forecasting, ensure GAAP compliance, and support audits. A Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance and 1 year of accounting experience are expected, with a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Support external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial operations.
• Mentor junior accounting staff and support their development.
