Job summary

Ollie is hiring a Staff Accountant to support GAAP-based financial reporting and tax compliance. The role requires cross-functional collaboration across the organization, accurate general ledger maintenance, and timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual books.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 1–3 years of experience, solid Excel skills, and comfort with large data sets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; 1–3 years of experience, preferably in retail.
• Strong understanding of sales/use tax, accounting theory and US GAAP.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to manage large data sets (VLOOKUP, Sum-ifs, Pivot tables).
• Familiarity with large General Ledger system.
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Prepare personal property and mercantile tax returns for the company, including timely payment.
• Calculate and file sales/use tax returns in all regions with nexus.
• Assist with gathering documentation for sales/use tax audits.
• Coordinate with state auditors for personal property tax audits.
• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with multiple stakeholders.
• Prepare general ledger entries and reconcile accounts.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial data and prepare management reporting including variance analysis and dashboards.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and documentations.
