Job summary

Talentify in Bel Air, MD is seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The role supports financial statement prep, reconciliations, tax returns, and audit prep, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

You will perform month-end close, budget analysis, and collaborate across departments to ensure GAAP compliance. Proficiency in Excel, SAGE, ADP, and ERP systems is preferred, with 1–3 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience as a staff accountant or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and GAAP.
• SAGE and ADP preferred experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; ERP experience a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and examine financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and risks.
• Prepare and file tax returns (income tax, sales tax, etc.).
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet financial goals.
• Provide support to finance team members as needed.
