The role supports month-end close, reconciliations, audit preparation, and tax obligations while maintaining accurate financial records. Responsibilities include general ledger and cost accounting duties, preparing monthly financial statements, and coordinating with auditors.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting principles.
• Ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles and follow established accounting policies and procedures.
• Ability to prepare accurate tax reports and supporting documentation.

Responsibilities

• Performs general ledger, cost accounting, and related accounting duties in support of accurate financial reporting.
• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Maintains the general ledger and ensures transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
• Codes invoices, establishes new accounts, reconciles accounts, and supports month-end close activities.
• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and responds to banking inquiries as needed.
• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; supports accounts receivable collections.
• Reviews and processes accounts payable invoices, ensuring payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Assists external auditors by gathering account information, documentation, and analysis for the annual audit.
• Prepares and files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies as required.
• Coordinates with software vendors to maintain accounting systems and recommends updates to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.
• Maintains current knowledge of accepted accounting practices, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
