Job summary

Ortho Molecular Products is seeking a Staff Accountant to support the Assistant Controller in various accounting areas and assist in financial statement prep. The role is onsite in Barrington, IL, with typical hours 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

You will work on fixed assets, journal entries, audits, and tax support while ensuring strong internal controls and accurate record keeping. A 3–5 year manufacturing accounting background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 3 to 5 years accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing
• Proficiency with GAAP and internal controls
• Experience with Dynamics 365, Concur, Avalara or Softco preferred
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines with confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Readies and maintains financial transactions with accounting principles
• Maintains fixed assets and depreciation schedules, records journal entries
• Contributes to fast close with reconciliations and tasks
• Assists with internal audits for accurate reporting
• Gathers information for annual reviews and corporate tax filing
• Performs backup for sales tax remittals and improves processes
