Job summary

FIRSTCALL MECHANICAL GROUP LLC, a Tampa-based HVAC and facilities services provider, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. You will manage general ledger, support month-end close, and ensure accurate job costing and compliance across our construction projects.

The role reports to the Corporate Controller and partners with the corporate finance team in Austin. Candidates should have 3–5 years in construction accounting, strong Excel, and ERP experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred, but not required.
• 3–5 years of construction accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of financial close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Experience with A/R, A/P, AIA billing, job costing, GL, treasury, payroll and state/local tax compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to quickly learn and adopt new software tools.
• Experience with QuickBooks or Sage Intacct or other ERP systems.
• Background in a skilled trades environment: construction, electrical, HVAC, or plumbing.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger and month-end/year-end close processes including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain records retention, protection and disposal of records.
• Maintain company accounting procedures and processes and ensure compliance.
• Develop procedures to improve efficiency.
• Monitor cash flow for operations.
• Assist with audits.
• Collaborate with corporate finance team and report to Corporate Controller.
