Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Staff Accountant in Austin, TX with a strong automotive industry background to join our engineering team on a permanent basis. The role focuses on journal entries, reconciliations, A/R, fixed assets, and budgeting, using Reynolds and Reynolds software for accounting tasks.

The successful candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, and a proven ability to analyze data, ensure accuracy, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Proficiency in fixed asset accounting.
• Experience with Reynolds and Reynolds software.
• Strong knowledge of A/R, month-end reconciliations, and commission calculations.
• Proven experience in annual budget preparation with monthly review and analysis.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and entering journal entries, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all transactions.
• Reconciling all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
• Managing the A/R process, including invoicing, collections, and reporting.
• Overseeing the fixed asset accounting process, including maintaining the fixed asset ledger and related depreciation schedules.
• Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget, including monthly review and analysis to ensure financial goals are being met.
• Utilizing Reynolds and Reynolds software for various accounting tasks.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and laws.
• Participating in special projects and performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the automotive industry, with particular expertise in commissions, A/R, month-end reconciliations, fixed asset accounting, and annual budget preparation with monthly review and analysis.
