Job summary

Calyx Containers is seeking a Staff Accountant to own end-to-end AP/AR and assist the monthly close from Salt Lake City. This hands-on role reports to the Controller and collaborates with sales, operations, and the production floor to ensure accurate billing and timely vendor payments.

You will drive process improvements, fix manual workarounds, and leverage AI tools to compress analysis, reporting, and documentation. A strong accounting foundation plus ERP experience is required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of AP/AR or general accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (or equivalent).
• Hands-on ERP experience; NetSuite is a strong plus.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to reconcile high-volume transactions.
• Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable with AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices for materials, packaging, equipment, and operating costs.
• Perform three-way matching and resolve discrepancies before entry.
• Prepare and execute weekly and monthly payment runs (ACH, wire, check).
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain vendor files.
• Support month-end close with AP accruals and related journal entries.
• Generate customer invoices and apply payments to open invoices.
• Monitor aging, follow up on past-due accounts, and coordinate with sales.
• Reconcile customer accounts and support collections strategy.
• Participate in month-end close and prepare AP/AR reporting for leadership.
