Shawmut Design and Construction in Columbia, MD is seeking a Staff Accountant, Accounts Payable. This office-based role offers hybrid flexibility after onboarding, with potential for 1–2 remote days per week.

You will code and process vendor and subcontractor invoices in CMiC and Procore, manage weekly checks and AP reports, and respond to inquiries from vendors and internal teams. Bachelor's degree is required with 2–5 years of AP experience; strong Excel skills; construction experience is a

• 2–5 years of experience working in a fast-paced accounts payable environment.
• Construction industry experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Code, route and post material vendor and G&A invoices accurately and timely in CMiC.
• Review and process Subcontractor invoices in Procore, ensuring timely/accurate processing.
• Respond to sub/vendor/ FF team inquiries and escalate to supervisor any issues that cannot be resolved easily.
• Manage the weekly check run process and provide Corp Accounting a list of who is to be paid.
• Run and distribute weekly AP reports on weekly basis.
• Process emergency/deposit check requests.
• Process new vendor/sub requests with Corp Accounting and pull into Procore.
• Process Credit Applications.
• Ensure new Quick Pay Vendors/Subs have the proper terms set up in CMiC.
• Set up new project approver workflow in CMiC.
• Review and reconcile vendor statements.

*This is an office-based position in Columbia, MD, with the potential for one to two remote workdays per week after the first 90 days, based on business needs and successful integration into the role.

  • Demonstrated ability to assess processes and make recommendations for improved efficiency.
  
  
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel required (intermediate skill set).
