The successful candidate will handle journal entries, reconciliations, and close activities, while partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable financial information and timely reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for accurate reporting.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and support financial statement preparation.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze financial results and assist with variance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and accounting policies.
  • Participate in preparing financial reports and management reports.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure accurate financial information and proper accounting treatment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Compensation:

$75,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications

Position Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This role will be responsible for supporting general ledger activities, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and ongoing accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accounting professional with a strong foundation in GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and investigate variances or reconciling items.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and support the preparation of financial statements.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze financial results and assist with variance analysis.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Participate in the preparation of financial reports and management reporting packages.
  • Collaborate with departments across the organization to ensure accurate financial information and proper accounting treatment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies.
  • Support special projects, system implementations, and ad hoc reporting requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
  • Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and data analysis functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Public accounting experience.
  • CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA licensure.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation.
  • Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location accounting environments.
  • Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage Intacct, Workday, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting audits, internal controls, or process improvement initiatives.
