Job description

Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team on a temp-to-perm basis. This role will support key accounting operations including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting, while working closely with the Controller and broader finance team.

This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who is looking to gain hands‑on experience in a collaborative environment with the potential for full‑time conversion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and post journal entries in PeopleSoft, including General Accounting (GA), Cash, Fixed Asset (FA) accruals, Balance Sheet entries, and Payroll‑related journal entries.
  • Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations, utilizing Cadency Matching to reconcile book activity against bank transactions and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with capital expenditure reporting by running and distributing capital spend reports to field operations and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the monthly close process, ensuring journal entries and reconciliations are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciliation variances or unusual account activity.
  • Maintain organized documentation to support audit and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with members of the accounting and finance team to ensure accuracy and consistency across financial records.
  • Provide ad hoc accounting and reporting support as requested by the Controller.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3+ years of accounting experience (internships or public accounting experience a plus)
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or other ERP systems preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Pay Range: $30/hr-$35/hr
