Job summary

Happy Egg, based in Rogers, Arkansas, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team. You will work across AP, AR, weekly and monthly reporting, and the month-end close for multiple entities.

You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financials and timely close processes. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, strong Excel skills, and ERP experience.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred.
• Experience with month-end close and multi-entity consolidations is a plus.
• Strong Excel and hands-on ERP experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Experience in agriculture, food production, or related industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor G/L accounts and perform month-end close with accurate reporting.
• Generate journal entries and reconcile balance sheets.
• Support month-end close and multi-entity consolidations.
• Process AP activity including vendor invoice coding, PO matching, and discrepancies resolution.
• Support AR activity including invoicing, cash application, and ledgers reconciliation.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for Finance and business partners.
• Investigate variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
• Act as liaison between Finance and other company functions.

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Rogers, Arkansas – someone who will work across accounts payable, accounts receivable, weekly and monthly reporting, and the month-end close for multiple entities.

Key Job Duties For This Role Include:

• Monitor G/L accounts, perform month-end close activities, and ensure accuracy of month-end reporting.
• Generate Journal Entries and perform Balance Sheet reconciliations.
• Support the month-end close and consolidation of multiple entities.
• Process and review accounts payable activity, including vendor invoice coding, purchase order matching, and resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.
• Support accounts receivable activity, including customer invoicing, cash application, and reconciling customer ledgers.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for Finance and business partners.
• Identify and research variances between actuals and budget/forecast.
• Act as the day-to-day liaison between Finance and functional areas of the Company.

You’ll Really Wow Us If:

• You’ve got 3 to 5 years of Accounting Experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• Experience with month-end close, and exposure to multi-entity consolidations is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and hands‑on experience working in an ERP system.
• Strong attention to details and accuracy.
• Meet firm deadlines and handle multiple tasks.
• Experience in Financial and Managerial accounting.
• Experience in agriculture, food production, or a related industry is a plus.
• Highly efficient and organized self-starter who does not need to be over managed.
