We focus on modernizing and integrating Army FM systems to support business transactions, accountability, and decision-making, including supporting the Army's General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS).

Responsibilities

We are seeking an Army Staff Accountant to support the USAFMCOM; Army Accounting and Audit Operations (A3O). The role involves providing recommendations to improve financial accuracy, reliability, and internal controls for the Army General Fund, particularly related to Secure Financials. The candidate will offer accounting and audit support, leveraging knowledge of Army and DoD financial systems.

Your Day-to-day Work Will Include

• Developing and executing reconciliations and conducting variance analysis.
• Collaborating with Data System Analysts to resolve discrepancies.
• Implementing internal controls for accurate financial reporting.
• Remediating audit deficiencies related to Secure Financials.
• Recommending new business processes or controls.
• Monitoring financial controls and validating corrective actions.
• Researching and verifying intragovernmental transaction details.
• Providing analysis and guidance on operational accounting issues.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Ability to work onsite, full-time if needed.
• 2-5 years of experience in accounting and auditing.
• Experience researching and resolving system discrepancies.
• Experience with DoD/Army financial systems like STANFINS, GFEBS, and ADVANA.
• Active SECRET security clearance with the ability to upgrade to TOP SECRET.

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of GAAP, GAGAS, FAM, FASAB, TFM, and DoD/Army FM policies.
