Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications required; Epicor preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.
  • Review transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Support budget preparation and financial analysis activities.
  • Maintain accounting records and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization. This role assists with accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger maintenance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to develop a strong foundation in accounting in a manufacturing context.

MAJOR DUTIES:

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts.

EDUCATION PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED/SPECIAL NOTES:

  • 2-3+ years of experience performing similar duties; preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications required; Epicor preferred
