Job summary

Dover Corp is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our manufacturing team. You will maintain general ledger, assist with month-end close, and support cost and inventory accounting across operations and production.

This role collaborates with purchasing and production teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, 2–5 years of manufacturing experience, strong Excel skills, and a working knowledge of GAAP and ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Understanding of GAAP and basic cost accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• CPA designation or progress toward CPA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain general ledger journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts, inventory adjustments, and reconciliation of inventory accounts
• Assist with cost accounting functions including labor, overhead allocation, and product costing analysis
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, prepaid expenses, accruals, and fixed assets
• Analyze manufacturing variances and provide explanations to management
• Prepare financial reports and schedules for internal management review
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Support internal audits and compliance reportingMaintain internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
• Collaborate with operations and production departments to improve financial accuracy and reporting efficiency

The Staff Accountant will support the accounting team by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end close, inventory accounting, cost accounting support, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
