Job summary

Backdrop.com in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Staff Accountant to keep the financial engine running across our brands. You’ll reconcile accounts, manage AP/AR, and support month-end close with GAAP discipline.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of accounting experience, strong Excel and ERP experience (NetSuite/QuickBooks/SAP), and a ownership mindset to deliver accurate, timely reporting. This on-site role offers growth within a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–4 years of accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP foundation.
• Advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts and manage weekly cash reporting.
• Own AP: bills, credit cards, coding, and payments (checks, wires, ACH).
• Handle invoicing, cash applications, and AR follow-ups.
• Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
• Reconcile the general ledger and investigate variances.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
• Assist with financial statements (GAAP).
• Prep 1099s, audits, and compliance reporting.
• Support tax filings and special projects.

What You’ll Do
