The Staff Accountant will prepare and analyze full cycle monthly financials for multiple properties, calculate monthly management fees, calculate expense allocations, reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze trends and assist management with annual and mid-year budget projections, as well as variance analysis. Under the supervision of the Controller, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for all areas relating to property financial reporting. The Staff Accountant must apply generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial records and resolve any discrepancies as they arise. This position adheres to tight deadlines and ensures the accurate and timely completion of monthly financials. The Staff Accountant will also help with special projects and will collaborate closely with corporate accounting, operations and other departments to ensure the financials capture and accurately report all material activities for the period.
