Job summary

CFS is hiring a Staff Accountant for a hybrid role in Westminster, CO. You will support month-end close, prepare journal entries, and manage reconciliations across multiple entities, under the guidance of a Controller. This position offers exposure to financial reporting, fixed assets, and budget analysis while developing accounting expertise.

You’ll work with a mentor and have opportunities to expand into more complex accounting responsibilities as you progress.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, or general ledger accounting.
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close across multiple entities.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Complete bank and account reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable for one entity.
• Support accounts receivable cash applications and customer account reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Assist with financial reporting and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Support accounting activity across multiple business units and entities.
• Help maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting documentation.

What You’ll Do

• Support month-end close across multiple entities
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Partner with the Controller on additional accounting projects and process improvements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Experience beyond primarily AP and AR responsibilities
• Exposure to journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, or general ledger accounting
• Strong Excel and accounting systems skills
• Experience working within an ERP or larger accounting system environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• A desire to continue learning and expand into more complex accounting responsibilities

Multi-entity accounting experience is a plus, but we encourage candidates with a strong general accounting foundation to apply.
