Express Employment Professionals - South Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Financial Manager and senior accounting leadership. This hands-on role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and internal controls in a stable, team-oriented environment.

You will manage accounting activities across multiple business units, provide accurate reporting to leadership, and contribute to process improvements while preserving work-life balance in a 100%

Qualifications

We're partnering with an established, mid-sized organization in Colorado Springs to hire an experienced Accountant to support the company's Financial Manager and senior accounting leadership.

• Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Work Arrangement: 100% onsite
• Employment Type: Full-time

What You'll Do

• Take an active role in the month-end close process, ensuring assigned activities are completed accurately and on schedule
• Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and other general ledger activity
• Review financial information, research discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues independently
• Support the Financial Manager and senior accounting leadership with higher-level accounting functions, reporting, and special projects
• Manage accounting activity across multiple business units, accounts, cost centers, or similar financial structures
• Assist with improving and maintaining accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
• Support financial reporting and provide accurate accounting information to leadership
• Work independently on assigned responsibilities while collaborating closely with the broader accounting team
• Assist with additional accounting functions and projects as business needs arise

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
• Experience managing accounting activity across multiple business units, locations, divisions, cost centers, or similarly complex financial structures
• Strong understanding of journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and core accounting principles
• Ability to independently own responsibilities, meet deadlines, and identify and resolve discrepancies
• Comfortable working with senior accounting leadership and stepping into higher-level accounting functions as needed
• Strong Excel skills and ability to learn new accounting systems
• Organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment
• Prior Staff Accountant, Senior Staff Accountant, GL Accountant, or similar experience preferred
