Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC seeks a senior Site Reliability Engineer leader to guide a team responsible for observability, reliability, and automation across large-scale, globally distributed systems. You will mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions for service mesh architectures, establish production ownership and SLOs, and collaborate with security to safeguard data.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems and web services.
• Experience leading a small to mid-size team with hands-on contributions.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux internals and networking.
• Proficiency writing production-grade code in Go, Python, or Java.
• Proven track record establishing SRE best practices across orgs.
• Experience developing and maintaining SLOs and error budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship for a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
• Drive architectural decisions for large-scale, globally distributed service mesh architectures.
• Establish production ownership models, incident response protocols, and SLOs.
• Develop roadmaps for observability and automation to improve reliability.
• Balance technical work with people management, career development and evaluations.
• Foster reliability culture and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Lead security initiatives with security/compliance teams to protect data and ensure compliance.
