TikTok USDS Joint Venture is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead a team focused on observable, fault-tolerant systems. You will drive architecture decisions for large-scale service mesh environments and own production ownership models and incident response protocols.

The role emphasizes observability, automation, and secure, compliant operations across globally distributed services, with a strong emphasis on leadership and hands-on technical contributions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience leading a small to mid-size team with hands-on contributions.
• Strong Unix/Linux internals and networking knowledge.
• Production-grade coding in Go, Python, Java, or similar.
• Proven SRE practices, including SLOs and error budgets.
• Experience building and maintaining reliable, scalable services.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
• Drive architecture decisions for large-scale service mesh architectures.
• Establish production ownership models and incident response protocols.
• Develop roadmaps for observability and automation to improve reliability.
• Balance technical work with people management and career development.
• Foster reliability culture and knowledge sharing across the org.
• Lead security initiatives and partner with security/compliance teams.
