Job summary

TikTok USDS Joint Venture seeks an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to lead a team responsible for observability, fault tolerance, and high availability of the video processing platform. You will guide architectural decisions for global service mesh architectures and own incident response and SLAs.

You will balance hands-on software and people management, mentor engineers, and push security and compliance improvements across services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience running high-availability web services at massive scale.
• Leadership of small to mid-size teams with hands-on contributions.
• Strong UNIX/Linux internals and networking knowledge.
• Production-grade code in Go, Python, Java or similar.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to a team of Site Reliability Engineers.
• Drive architectural decisions for large-scale service mesh architectures.
• Establish production ownership models and incident response protocols.
• Develop roadmaps for observability and automation to boost reliability.
