Job summary
Charles Schwab in Austin seeks an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to support enterprise applications and platform services. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and improve availability with Splunk and AppDynamics, and lead automation across deployments using GitHub pipelines, Python, Shell scripting, and Power Automate.
You will also optimize CI/CD with Harness, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Nexus, deploy to PCF, manage service bindings, and participate in on-call rotations while mentoring junior
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 60 months of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience in a related occupation.
- Experience with PCF, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Solace; Splunk and AppDynamics.
- Source control via GitHub; incident/work item management using Remedy and JIRA.
- Automation in Python or PowerShell; Linux/Unix; cloud platforms and Kubernetes.
- Observability tools proficiency with Splunk and AppDynamics.
Responsibilities
- Production support and Site Reliability Engineering for enterprise apps and platform services.
- Monitor with Splunk and AppDynamics; perform RCA and coordinate resolutions.
- Create and maintain monitoring alerts, dashboards, and runbooks; improve observability.
- Design automation to reduce manual work; deploy workflows using GitHub pipelines, Python, PowerShell, and Power Automate.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines with Harness, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and Nexus.
- Provide production support for PCF; manage service bindings and access permissions.
- Contribute to disaster recovery testing and on-call rotations; mentor junior engineers.
