Job summary

Schwab is seeking a skilled engineer focused on Site Reliability Engineering to enhance operations for large‑scale, mission‑critical applications. The role centers on systematization, automation, and proactive tooling, with on‑site collaboration in Austin, TX to support a high‑availability trading environment.

You will develop dashboards and CI/CD orchestration, triage alerts, coordinate capacity planning, and contribute to incident response and real-time troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6–8 years of experience with enterprise-level administration and SRE.
• Experience with Schwab systems is preferred.
• Proficient in automation scripting and proactive monitoring.
• Experience with Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, and AppDynamics.
• Strong SDLC experience and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Evangelize SRE mindset and solve problems through systematization.
• Identify opportunities to build innovative tools and solve operations problems on enterprise applications.
• Create scripts to automate operational tasks and integrate solutions into infrastructure.
• Triage alerts and diagnose/resolve critical issues; manage changes.
• Develop tools, frameworks, and instrumentation to improve rollout success.
• Coordinate capacity planning and CI/CD orchestration to reduce delivery friction.
• Real-time troubleshooting of mission-critical workflows and contribute to product feedback.
• Participate in on-call support.
