Job summary

7-Eleven, Inc. seeks a skilled SRE RunOps Engineer 2 to ensure reliability and performance of the 7NOW delivery platform. You’ll monitor incidents, automate tasks, and collaborate with development and infra teams to uphold SLOs and drive operational excellence.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience, strong automation skills, and AWS/Azure certifications. You’ll contribute to cost optimization, CI/CD pipelines, security, and DR planning while mentoring peers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• AWS or Azure cloud certifications (Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator, or equivalent) preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, New Relic, Splunk).
• Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents for 7NOW platform services.
• Design and implement automation to reduce manual tasks and improve reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 support.
• Collaborate with engineering to improve observability and establish SLIs.
• Conduct post-incident reviews and root-cause analyses.
• Develop and maintain runbooks and standard operating procedures.
• Optimize cloud costs and resource usage in AWS/Azure.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for safe deployments.
• Perform capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Work with security teams on best practices and compliance.
• Contribute to disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
