Job summary

Podium is seeking an experienced SRE Manager to lead a team that designs and runs reliable infrastructure powering AI-driven local business experiences. You will coach engineers, own production availability, and drive blameless postmortems while pushing automation and AI-assisted operations across the stack.

You will collaborate with engineering, product, and security to embed reliability in the SDLC, define SLOs, and manage incidents at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering.
• 2+ years leading or managing a team.
• Deep familiarity with distributed systems and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), plus Kubernetes/Docker.
• Real experience with observability tooling - Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, ClickHouse.
• Comfort with CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
• A track record of owning incident management and building a genuine postmortem culture.
• Strong scripting/programming chops (Python, Go, or similar).
• The ability to explain a gnarly technical problem to someone who doesn't want the gnarly details.

Responsibilities

• Coach, mentor, and grow a team of SREs with real career development.
• Hire and retain strong engineers; build a team people want to stay on.
• Create a blameless postmortem culture and early issue escalation.
• Drive day-to-day project management for the team and keep work visible.
• Own the availability and performance of production systems end-to-end.
• Set SLIs/SLOs/SLAs and engage with the team on error budgets.
• Run incident management: on-call, escalation, postmortems that drive change.
• Push automation to reduce toil and enable durable fixes.
• Own capacity planning, scaling, and disaster recovery strategy.
• Put AI investigation/incident agents to work to surface issues early.
• Evaluate and tune AI/LLM-based tooling to reduce false positives.
• Bring AI into the incident workflow: auto-summarizing incidents and drafting postmortems.
• Know where automation stops and human judgment takes over.
• Look for new AI opportunities to shorten MTTR.
