Job summary

Valiant Technologies LLC in Austin seeks a hands-on Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to own infrastructure, deployment automation, monitoring, and production operations in AWS, GAIA, and GKP environments.

You will implement CI/CD pipelines, define SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, respond to incidents, automate tasks, optimize performance, and collaborate with DevOps, platform, and engineering teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and cloud services.
Experience working with GAIA and GKP infrastructure.
Knowledge of infrastructure deployment, configuration, and environment management.
Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and telemetry implementation.
Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or equivalent observability platforms.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment tools.
Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and application environments.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell.
Understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems, networking, DNS, load balancing, and security fundamentals.
Knowledge of incident management, root cause analysis, and production support processes.
Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, scalability, and fault‑tolerant system design.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, manage, and maintain AWS and GAIA/GKP infrastructure for high availability.
Deployment and Release Management: Implement and maintain automated deployment pipelines and manage rollbacks.
Monitoring and Observability: Configure monitoring, alerting, dashboards, logging, and telemetry solutions.
Site Reliability Engineering: Define and track SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to improve service reliability.
Incident Management: Respond to production incidents, troubleshoot issues, perform RCA, implement preventive measures.
Automation and Tooling: Develop scripts to reduce manual tasks and improve deployment efficiency.
Performance and Capacity Management: Monitor resource utilization and optimize capacity and costs.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent.
Security and Compliance: Implement infrastructure security best practices and access controls.
Collaboration: Work with development, DevOps, platform engineering, and operations teams to improve reliability.
Documentation: Maintain runbooks, deployment procedures, and incident reports.
