Job summary

CarGurus invites you to join its Summer Internship as a Site Reliability Engineer in Boston, combining hands-on projects with mentorship. The 11-week program runs June through August 2027, with a hybrid work model requiring about three days per week at the Boston office.

You will design and deploy observability tools, help scale telemetry and logs, and work with SREs to improve incident response while learning industry best practices in production environments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with eligibility for a full-time internship.
• Hands-on Linux experience (Linux CLI).
• Familiarity with AWS or another cloud platform.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or shell scripting.
• Familiarity with Docker and interest in Kubernetes.
• Interest in incident response procedures and working in production environments.
• Strong collaboration and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and deploy observability systems across the stack.
• Scale observability across 200+ engineers and hundreds of services.
• Collaborate with SREs to refine incident response and postmortems.
• Promote best practices across the engineering organization.
