CarGurus is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer Intern for an 11-week Summer Internship Program designed to give hands-on experience at the intersection of analytics, engineering, and business strategy.

The role is full-time 40 hours per week, runs from June through August 2027, with a hybrid working model and candidates should expect to work out of our Boston, MA office 60% of the time.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CS, data analytics, engineering, statistics, or related field.
• Strong SQL skills from coursework or internships; joins and performant queries.
• Curious, analytical, team player with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and build scalable data models and data products.
• Write modular SQL and Python code; participate in code reviews.
• Improve data infrastructure, testing, and reliability.
• Collaborate with analysts and engineers to translate questions into data solutions.
• Learn analytics-engineering best practices and modeling patterns.
• Identify opportunities to automate and improve team efficiency with AI data platform.
