Job summary

PNC seeks a Software Engineering Manager in Site Reliability Engineering to lead distributed SRE teams focused on reliability, observability, and automation. You will manage production support, hostage to high-availability environments, and drive post-incident analysis and improvements.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong leadership, and collaboration across engineering, infrastructure, and vendor partners, with weekly on-site presence in multiple hubs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience and 3+ years of management experience.
• Strong experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Production Support, or DevOps.
• Proven ability to lead teams in high-availability, enterprise environments.
• Deep understanding of incident, problem, and change management frameworks.
• Hands-on knowledge of monitoring tools, cloud/infrastructure platforms, and automation.
• Experience improving system reliability, observability, and operational maturity.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead during high-pressure situations.
• Experience with databases and tooling such as Oracle/SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra; Elasticsearch, Redis, MQ, Kafka a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead SRE teams; set goals, coach engineers, and drive ownership.
• Provide after-hours on-call leadership for critical incidents.
• Oversee end-to-end incident response and post-incident analysis.
• Guide production support across applications, infrastructure, and databases.
• Drive root cause analysis and permanent fixes to reduce recurrence.
• Oversee change management and release execution.
• Advance monitoring, observability, and automation initiatives.
• Champion resiliency, scalability, and high availability.
