The Sr. Web Developer utilizes seasoned subject matter expertise to lead the design and implementation of innovative digital solutions across a suite of corporate, B2B marketing websites. This position is a strategic partner, providing technical leadership and expertise to elevate the organization's recruiting and retention initiatives. The Sr. Web Developer directs the creation of high-performing web properties and provides recommendations that drive lead generation and client retention.

Responsibilities

• Directs and oversees the technical aspects of all web development projects, establishing and enforcing coding standards to ensure all work is clean, efficient, and well-documented
• Provides technical advice and mentorship to junior developers and other team members
• Leads collaboration with stakeholders to interpret business requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications
• Analyzes and evaluates web property performance, partnering with the Digital Marketing Analyst to interpret data and present strategic recommendations for improvement
• Designs and implements complex A/B and multivariate tests, assessing their effectiveness to optimize key performance metrics
• Evaluates and assesses industry trends, presenting strategic recommendations to leadership and stakeholders to ensure the company remains at the forefront of digital innovation
• Prepares and presents technical documentation, project plans, and reports to internal and external audiences
• Manages integrations with our growth stack, including HubSpot for lead capture, Google Tag Manager for event tracking, and other technologies
• Implements advanced SEO strategies (SSR/SSG, JSON-LD schema, automated sitemaps, llms.txt) to maintain our search rankings
• Owns Core Web Vitals to ensure lightning-fast load times
• Works closely with our brand team to build and maintain a scalable design system that ensures brand consistency across marketing pages and interfaces

• Provides guidance on cross-functional projects where advanced subject matter expertise is needed
• May lead projects or teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology, computer science, or related field. Four (4) years of relevant education and work experience may be substituted for degree
• Minimum of five (5) years of web development experience
• Well versed in industry developments, techniques, and trends
• Proficiency with Headless CMS platforms (Sanity, WordPress, etc.) and marketing automation integrations (HubSpot)
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in WordPress, Sanity, or other content management systems and building architecture
• Advanced knowledge and expertise in web design tools, comfortable in Figma and capable of translating complex designs into responsive web components
• Ability to maintain a codebase using Git
• Ability to run effective A/B or multivariate testing
• Strong ability to scope projects
• Strong communicator who can collaborate across teams, explaining technical trade-offs to marketing stakeholders while holding your own in architectural reviews with engineers
• Experience with REST APIs for fetching content from multiple sources

Preferred Requirements

• Familiarity with JIRA, Asana, or other project management systems
• Light experience with LLM-based coding tools like Cursor, Claude, etc.
