SR Terminal Manager

Job summary

Central Transport seeks a Terminal Manager to lead operations at our North Carolina terminal. Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferred, and you will hire, coach, and mentor staff while delivering safe, efficient service to customers.

You will oversee loading/unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight, recruit and retain terminal staff, supervise drivers and dock workers, and monitor production against KPI goals. Expect varying shifts and strong safety emphasis.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership including hiring, coaching, counseling, training, and mentoring.
• Desire to surround customers with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week on average.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal.
• Lead loading and unloading freight, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff.
• Provide leadership to drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production to meet KPI goals.
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Ensure compliance with company operating model.
• Support a culture of excellence in product quality for customers.
• Be flexible to work varying shifts as business levels increase.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
