Job summary

Central Transport LLC seeks a Terminal Manager to lead dock operations at the Columbus terminal and drive safety, efficiency, and service quality for customers across the region.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience in LTL environments, the ability to hire and mentor staff, and a solid comfort with technology and data-driven performance metrics. Expect a 50-hour workweek with varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Prior LTL management experience is strongly preferred.
• Must have strong leadership skills including the ability to hire, coach, counsel, train, and mentor employees
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service
• High aptitude for technology
• The ability to multi-task while being detail oriented
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average
• Bachelor’s Degree, preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
