Zusammenfassung

Central Transport seeks a Terminal Manager to lead dock operations at our Illinois terminal. You will oversee loading/unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight sorting while recruiting and developing a team of drivers and dock staff.

You will drive safety, KPI achievement, and service excellence, maintaining DOT/OSHA compliance. The role requires capacity to adapt to varying shifts and a strong customer-focus.

Qualifikationen

• Prior LTL management experience preferred.
• Strong leadership skills including hiring, coaching, counseling, training and mentoring employees.
• Desire to surround customer with excellence in service.
• High aptitude for technology.
• Ability to multi-task while being detail oriented.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week average.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee dock operations at the terminal
• This includes the process of loading & unloading freight, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain terminal staff
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock workers
• Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met and/or exceeded
• Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards
• Ensure company operational model compliance
• Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts as business levels increase
