Job summary

FedEx Freight in Memphis, TN, seeks a communications professional to develop and implement strategies that boost brand awareness among diverse audiences and enhance employee engagement.

The role involves shaping internal and external narratives, presenting plans to senior leadership, and guiding crisis communications. Occasional travel to FedEx Freight locations is expected due to the field-centric nature of the work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or related field plus three (3) years’ agency/in house public relations or communications experience; experience in a corporate environment preferred
• Communications planning and communications project management experience
• Relationship management experience with external agencies, vendors, clients or business partners preferred
• Excellent organizational, creative and human relations skills
• Proven communicator with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft
• Working knowledge of intranet and major social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) preferred
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Depending on internal or external communications focus, other knowledge, skills and experience may be required
• Experience with project management software, specifically Asana, or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing public relations strategy and planning, and provide strategic communications counsel
• Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures

This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN. You will be required to work at a FedEx Freight Location several times per week.
