Job Summary
The Senior Regional Construction Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing program schedules for various construction projects. This role includes supervising project schedulers, interfacing with staff and contractors, and ensuring project timelines are met.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises project schedulers and interfaces with Owners Authorized Representatives (OARs), Senior Project Managers, and other staff and contractors regarding CPM schedules, project scope, and budget.
- Projects staffing needs and recommends improvements to executive staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Reports to the Sr Construction Manager for Scheduling and Estimating, providing updates and reports to upper management.
- Performs construction scheduling and develops program schedules with relationships, logic, milestones, and constraints.
- Interprets detailed construction drawings and understands work scope.
- Reviews contractor’s baseline schedules, verifies scope, and provides detailed review comments.
- Performs QA/QC on schedule submissions, reviews critical path, resource loading, and schedule content.
- Conducts schedule time impact analysis for change orders and negotiates delays with OAR and contractors.
- Reads drawings to determine scope and contract terms for time extensions.
- Performs critical path and earned value analysis.
- Monitors construction site progress, reports to stakeholders.
- Communicates schedule and progress issues in meetings.
- Performs regular program schedule QA/QC reviews.
- Updates master schedules bi-monthly and prepares reports as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Proficiency in Primavera latest version.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Understanding of cost engineering, scheduling, and forensics.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with project teams.
Education and Experience
- Minimum eight years of full-time experience in construction scheduling for owners or general contractors, preferably in educational or public works projects.
- Education requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in any field with an additional two years of scheduling experience (total of 10+ years).
